I’m an Australian-born Chinese, raised and rooted in China my entire childhood. Back in 2003, I moved to Australia and completed my Master of Applied Finance at Macquarie University. In 2008, I chose to come back to China, and I’ve worked in the interior design industry ever since. I ran two interior design studios in Shenzhen and Shanghai, focusing on real estate projects—showrooms, display apartments, and high-end customized refined decoration design. After over a decade in the field, I decided to put my businesses on hold in 2021, as the real estate market faced a major slowdown. That’s when my slow travel journey began. Together with my wife and our two dogs, we hit the road in a motorhome to travel across China. Over the past few years, we’ve wandered through countless provinces and regions. We’ve explored coastal areas like Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian and Guangdong, wandered the stunning southwest regions of Guangxi, Guizhou and Yunnan, traveled all the way northeast to Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang and Inner Mongolia, and also ventured into Tibet, Xinjiang, Shaanxi and Shanxi. We’ve crossed mountains, grasslands, plateaus and ancient lands, experiencing the endless diversity of this country. During our travels, I kept thinking about what my next chapter would look like. Now in our forties, my wife and I no longer chase money or fast-paced success. What we truly crave is creativity, artistic expression, and inner peace. She encouraged me to blend my lifelong hobbies with a new career path—and that’s how this website was born. I’ve always been a huge fan of bodhi prayer beads and traditional Chinese cultural accessories. I want to share this beautiful culture with the whole world: classic bodhi bracelets, modern minimalist metal accessories, and handcrafted pieces made with unique Sichuan tie-dye craftsmanship. I hope to combine traditional oriental aesthetics with modern design, and introduce these cultural treasures to global audiences. Beyond handmade accessories, this platform will also be my travel journal. I’ll share our motorhome travel routes, local stories, unique landscapes, and all the interesting people we’ve met along the way. My biggest wish is to let people from all over the globe see the real, vivid and beautiful side of China. Chinese civilization stretches back thousands of years. It is one-of-a-kind, with profound cultural connotations and timeless charm. No matter what preconceived ideas people may have, the heritage of this ancient nation is truly extraordinary. I hope my stories, travels and handmade creations can help more international friends understand China deeply, and get to know the kind, genuine and warm-hearted Chinese people behind the culture.
